Hans Karemaker is a Professional Civil Engineer who started his career in 1979 after he obtained his Hons BEng (Civil) degree from the University of Stellenbosch.
Over the next 5 years he gained vast experience in civil and structural engineering design as well as construction supervision. During that time he completed a Master Engineering Degree (MEng) with a major in structural engineering at the University of Pretoria.
During this period he worked in the design office and later at construction with Spoornet, a division of Transnet. He gained experience on the Pyramid – Babsfontein and Pyramid – Polokwane freight lines as well as utilities and depots at Pyramid South yard.
In 1984 he joined KV3 Engineers and gained valuable experience in project management, dams, water and municipal engineering services. He was Office Manager in Germiston and Pretoria before being appointed as Divisional Director: Civil and Development Services, Divisional Director: Special Projects and Chief Operating Officer. Since 2010 he was filling the position of Customer Sector Manager and Divisional Manager Water Services Unit at WorleyParsons for the Infrastructure sector. He is currently Executive Director at iX engineers, Divisional Director – Water division as well as Director for Strategic marketing and Business Development.
Hans has vast experience in Infrastructure & Environment, having held several operations and project management roles with particular experience in project and programme management, as Project Director and in business development and analysis.
