Jannie van der Mescht is a Professional Engineering Technologist with more than 26 years' experience in the field of water resources as well as water and wastewater engineering services.  He has vast experience in Project Management, design, supervision and feasibility studies of major water augmentation and bulk transfer schemes.   

  

Jannie started his career at KV3 Engineers, a Consulting Engineering firm in 1989 and was involved in various projects in the Water and Sanitation Sector including bulk water and sewer pipelines, pump stations, water, sewer and stormwater reticulation services for towns, as well as road drainage, township developments, low-cost housing schemes and residential, commercial, institutional and industrial developments in both rural and urban settings. 

  

In 2001 he was elected as Associate and in 2009 as Technical Director in in the Water Division at KV3. During 2011 he was appointed as Technical Director in the Water Department at WorleyParsons and later as Sub-Sector Lead in 2016. Jannie then joined iX engineers (Pty) Ltd, the result of a partial merger between WorleyParsons PI business and Black Jills Engineers (Pty) Ltd consulting business and was appointed as Divisional Executive for Water in October 2016. In 2017 his appointment was extended to include the position of Pretoria Office Manager. 

  

In 2019 Jannie was elected as Executive Director and Regional Business Manager North responsible for the Pretoria office as well as the Durban, Bloemfontein and Kimberley offices.
